Shop Small 2020

Y’all know how important it is to me to shop small. In fact, one of the main reasons I started Style Approximately was to showcase small businesses especially ones owned by BIPOC and WOC. If you’d like to see some of my posts on Bay Area shops, you can click here and here

Small businesses are suffering during this pandemic. Now more than ever, they need us. With the holidays right around the corner, I wanted to create an extensive list of small businesses that I personally recommend to shop at. I also wanted to share an important initiative that a number of small businesses are participating in.

#reclaimblackfriday

Several businesses I support like Bryr Clogs and Tonle Designs are part of the #reclaimblackfriday campaign put on by the Reclaim Collaborative. They are a community dedicated to building a better more just fashion and lifestyle ecosystem. From November 27th through November 30th, a percentage of sales from several brands will be redistributed to Black and Indigenous owned environmental organizations. If you’re planning on shopping this weekend, I encourage you to check out this initiative and put your dollar into something that betters our community.

The List of Shops and Brands

With that being said, I also wanted to include the shops and brands I’ve personally supported and shopped throughout the years. A number of businesses are within the Bay Area community, but I’ve also included ones that span the country and beyond. If there’s any that you would like to include, please share in the comments!

Is the bluish bin in one of the photos a compost bin? If yes, can you tell me which shop sells it?

Yes, it’s a compost bin! And it’s from Morningtide Shop.
