Building a Sustainable Closet: Summer Staples
Now that the heat is officially here, I’ve been thinking about the summer staples that maintain their style and relevance through the years. My friend Melissa of A Goldy Girl and A Goldy Gram embodies the endless summer with her wanderlust attitude, and her sense of adventure with her husband and two children. This sunny magic clearly shows in her style.
She introduced me to West Perro while we were at West Coast Craft on Saturday, and I cannot stop thinking about their booth, their high quality desert sun hats, or the beautiful beadwork catered and hand selected by the wearer.
Today’s post is all about putting together a few staple pieces to create that beautifully effortless and adventurous look. All the pieces would look amazing with a West Perro hat. Check out the picks below.
I bought this skirt during my last rendezvous with Everlane in the Mission. It’s a cotton twill with a bit of a stretch similar to their wide leg crop pants. I like how it’s also high waisted and hits just slightly above the knee.
I believe in having at least one high quality button down in your closet. The 105 Costa Stripe is an easy fit and well-polished. The button down looks great at work or on a day of relaxing.
I absolutely love Everlane’s wide leg pants. It has a slight stretch, high waisted, and looks amazing pretty much with any top. The pants also fit nicely with my hips.
Hackwith Design has amazing basics. I love how the shift dress has a reversible neckline with a slight a line that creates a nice breathable draping.
The Easy Jacket is definitely a must when the sun goes down and you’re roaming about during those summer nights.
